Yoga & Mindfulness in the Classroom
Mindfulness is a natural quality that we all have. It's available to us in every moment if we take the time to appreciate it. When we practice mindfulness, we're practicing the art of creating space for ourselves - space to think, space to breathe, space between ourselves and our reactions.
Join Shari, founder and creator of Karma Kids Yoga, for tools to become more aware of where you are and what you're doing, without becoming overly reactive or overwhelmed by what's going on around you in the classroom. You will learn mindfulness activities, important breathing exercises, meditations, yoga poses and games for energizing, focus, concentration, self-regulation, easing anxiety and calming the brain and body, as well as building mindfulness practices with students in a classroom setting.
Shari will show you how to help guide your students into a successful state of quieting the mind and body, tools that they can use in their every day lives. She will show you how to be in the moment, how to feel your breathe and body, and to redirect the mind when it wanders. She will share techniques from her extensive experience in Children’s Yoga and Brain Gym. Don’t miss this important workshop!
This course is great for educators and counselors of Preschools and Elementary Schools.

Mindful Breathing and Meditation
Breathing? Boring! We'll show you how to make it fun and meaningful for kids of all ages. Real, usable breathing exercises that empower kids to soothe and calm, energize and focus, ease worries and anxiety, and even help to fall asleep. Our breath can also energize, help to clear the mind and be ready for anything!
Meditation can seem challenging (am I doing it right?), but we're going to share real, age-appropriate meditations that are kid-friendly and fun. These meditations inspire discussion and connection within the classroom as well as encourage a self-practice that can be a helpful tool for life.
This workshop is the icing on the yoga cake! We'll show you great ways to teach kids how to deeply relax and disconnect by using visualizations, music, sound, and our breath.

Self-Care Tools for Stressed Out Teachers
We understand teachers and the level of stress they deal with on a daily basis, often taking care of themselves last. The truth is that you can't pour from an empty cup...and we believe it's important for educators to take care of themselves as much as they care for their students. You'll learn techniques for grounding and self care in challenging situations. You'll learn how to listen to your own body and mind, and how to take care of yourself so that you can be your best self in the classroom and in your community.
We'll share key yoga poses, breathing exercises, mindfulness activities and games, meditations, essential oils, Tapping techniques, and Brain Gym techniques that you'll experience first hand. Participants will move, play, experience, self-care, and leave with some new strategies for reducing stress, not just for you, but also for your students.
This workshop is designed for educators who struggle when immersed in stressful situations (with their students), experience any level of stress and anxiety, and for easy self-care practices. Yoga experience is encouraged but not required.
This course is great for educators and counselors of Preschools, Elementary, Middle and High Schools.
